Dr. Peter H. Thaller, MSc is Head of the Department of 3D-Surgery and Clinical Tissue Regeneration at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich and at the Bethel Hospital in Berlin. As an internationally recognised expert in the field of limb lengthening and reconstruction surgery for more than two decades, he has shared his knowledge and results of his research in scientific publications, books, meetings and surgeries around the world. His annual, multi-day international 3D-Surgery courses have since been attended by interested colleagues from over twenty countries.
He coined the term “3D-Surgery” to describe the diagnosis, analysis and treatment of bony Defects, Deformities, and Discrepancies at length. Later in 2009 he founded the Department of 3D-Surgery, so to speak as a “brand” at his alma mater, the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich (LMU) at the Musculoskeletal University Center Munich (MUM). In 2020 he has been appointed Head of 3D-Surgery in Berlin additionally.
