Prof. Dr. Metin Küçükkaya has specialized in orthopedic surgery, focusing on limb lengthening and deformity correction in adults and children since 1992. He contributed to advancing Ilizarov techniques and developed methods like cable bone transport and retrograde lengthening over nail. His expertise includes orthopedic trauma, bone infections, limb length discrepancies, and congenital deformities, using systems such as hexapods and lengthening nails.

As a member of "Ortopedist Istanbul," he has been involved in developing new limb lengthening technologies. He played a crucial role in creating the "Precice Magnetic Lengthening Rod" by Ellipse and performed the world’s first surgery with it in 2010. In 2023, he completed the clinical trial of the "Synoste" intramedullary lengthening nail, utilizing smart metal technology.
