I graduated from Teikyo University Hospital and completed my postgraduate studies at Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine in my hometown, where I received my Ph.D. I was then invited by  Professor Takashi Matsushita to become a lecturer at Teikyo University. I became a visiting associate professor at UCI, California, USA, a visiting graduate professor at the UCI Institute of Joint Biomechanics, and a university professor in the Department of Traumatology at Fukushima Medical University.I also work at Tokyo D Tower Hospital.
